First let me say Deanna and baby are all right. She's going in to see her doctor tomorrow so we should have more details then.

The weekend started off great with two lion dances at the Loop in Motion festival on Friday, a parade Saturday followed by two more performances. I sat in the back of Scion and got $15 for Vintage Vinyl while I was down there. Fun festival. Saw some good performances (and some bad) and over all the dances went well. After wards I took Deanna out to Drunken Fish with Leo staying at my mom's. That's when the weekend went sour.

Towards the end of dinner Deanna came back from the bathroom and said we had to go so off we went to the hospital. She's been having some problems since last Monday, but an ultrasound on Thursday showed the baby in good health. We got into the ER and they found the baby's heartbeat (second nurse to try mind you) which was healthy. So for now Deanna's on bed rest until she sees th doctor tomorrow, but we're both pretty freaked out. I missed the lion dance blessing we were scheduled to do today, but I'm sure the crew had no problems with out me. For now we wait and see what's up with Deanna. The babies healthy so at least we know that. It's going to suck if Deanna gets put on bed rest for the next six months, but I know we can deal with it. What ever it takes for her and the baby's safety.

So I may have a "new" car. By new I mean ten years older then my current car, but I've never owned it before. A 1984 Chrysler Fifth Avenue with less miles, but a few quirks. We need to iron out a few kinks before I take this car as my own, but in theory it's more likely to last the 2.5 years it will take to pay off the wife's car. One car payment sucks enough. The speedometer only gets to 85 which concerns me. What concerns me more is that the needle sticks so I can't always tell how fast I'm going. Again, the kinks. The interior is nice. Blush plush seats. Leo was crawling around in it on Sunday and laid down to go to sleep. They are comfy. We'll have to wait and see how this one goes.

Nothing like the feeling of a hatchet cutting through young timber. Yes, I killed trees today. Went home at lunch and whacked away. Then I went back to work and read up on Lizzie Borden. Don't feel so bad. They were just young saplings growing along the side of the house and into the fence. The landscaping has begun. I've got big plans for the next three years. Deanna doesn't seem to care, but that's ok. She gets the upstairs and I get the outside and some of the downstairs. I'm hoping to hit a local nursery and landscaping place to get some more ideas and some sod. Got a lot of patch work to do. I'll probably post some more pictures and ideas. I'm thinking unique and easy to manage. I promise to bore you with pictures and descriptions.

Due the success and popularity of Joel and Deanna version 2.0.1 (Leo), we've decided to start development of version 2.1.0 (???). Scheduled for release in April of 2007 version shortly after 2.0.1 updates to 2.0.2. 2.1.0 will be designed to accommodate, not replace version 2.0.1. While some may worry about an additional version becoming a resource hog and having sharing violations with version 2.0.1, let us assure you that the development team is more then capable of handling any bugs and issues that may arise. There should be an announcement in 3-4 months regarding if it will operate in mode F or M as well as the first screen shots. Keep watching for more announcements as this is sure to be an exciting release.

If you were wondering why the live cam stopped updating, it's because my work laptop got replaced by one with only USB port so I had no room for the cam. Now that I've got a hub, the cam is back. I hope this meets all your stalking needs.

I am officially opening The Shop. I've designated and set up a back room in my basement where I can work on "stuff". Fixing, building, designing, scheming anything involving computers, electronics or construction. I am calling the room "The Shop" because that's what it is and I don't feel like being creative. "To the point" is a grand philosophy that is often ignored for the "beating around the bush" method of communication. I'll post pictures soon of my ghetotasic work area where a storm window acts as a white board, left over kitchen counter top makes a fine monitor desk that stands 18" tall, the drum set is ready to rock out and Tidy Cats litter buckets store cable. I've got three projects currently and a growing queue. I figure if I limit myself to about three projects at a time I should get at least one done. Maybe. We'll see.

This has been something I've wanted to set up for a long time. I've never felt like I had a space of my own in the house so this room will serve as my outlet. Granted 50% the room is taken up with general storage, the other 50% is mine to do as I please. But this is where years of Tetris will pay off as I move and organize the room to create more space.
